Why we started Namlo Foods?
Suman Dai’s picture: Momos have quickly become the most popular comfort food in South Asia because of its spice-infused flavors and healthy ingredients.
If you ask anyone in Nepal what their favorite food is, the answer will always be Momo. I was no different. Growing up in Nepal, from an early age I loved eating momos and I was intrigued by recipes that have passed down through generations.
As I grew older, I trained as a chef and learned about the flavors, ingredients and techniques to make momos. After various experiments, I was able to perfect a recipe that I could be part off.
When I moved to the US, I was excited to share my recipe to the whole world and Namlo foods and our momos is the culmination of that effort. With our momos, we are introducing a small taste of Nepali culture and we hope that people can come together to eat momos and create long-lasting memories.
